District Boundary Information
The process for parents or guardians who wish to transfer their student(s) outside of their resident district starts with the school district where the student resides, by completing a choice transfer form.
Releasing: Students who live within the La Center School District boundaries may apply to attend a school in another school district by submitting a completed Choice Transfer form to the La Center School District to be released to the requested school district.
Requesting: Students living outside the La Center School District boundaries requesting to attend a school within the La Center School District must fill out a choice transfer form and submit it to their resident district to be released.
Choice transfers are approved for one school year only. Families must renew annually for their student(s) to be considered for placement for the next school year.
Transportation: Parents or guardians whose student(s) are accepted to attend La Center Schools on a choice transfer are responsible for transportation to/from school.

Do you live in another Washington school district and would like to attend one of La Center’s schools?
Choice Transfers (out-of-district boundary exceptions) are required for any student who wants to attend La Center Schools, but lives outside of La Center School District boundary. All Choice Transfer requests need to be submitted to the resident school district, and they will notify us of the request.
Surrounding District Contact Information
New application transfer requests for students residing outside the La Center School District will be asked to provide an academic history (transcript, report card, etc.), attendance report, and discipline record from the previous school prior to acceptance into the La Center School District.
Transportation: Parents or guardians whose student(s) are accepted to attend La Center Schools on a choice transfer are responsible for transportation to/from school.
Note: If your student(s) new choice transfer was approved; please enroll your student(s) with the requested school(s).

Do you live in the La Center School District and would like to transfer to another Washington school district, including an online school?
New: In an effort to make Choice Transfers more convenient for parents/guardians, La Center School District has implemented using the online Choice Transfers process created by the state for school districts to use.
These Choice Transfer requests are for students who live in the La Center School District, but wish to transfer out to another school district and are available by accessing the OSPI Choice Transfer Request Portal or paper forms may be picked up in the La Center District Office located at 725 NE Highland Rd. La Center, WA 98629. Requests will be processed as they are received and submitted to your requested school district.

Are you providing Home Based Instruction (Homeschooling)?
Families who are providing Home Based Instruction are required to submit an annual Intent to Provide Home Based Instruction form with the superintendent of the public school district within which the parent resides. The Intent to Provide Home Based Instruction form is due by September 15th each year.
