From Monday, November 7 to Monday, November 21, La Center Schools took part in the Stuff the Bus Canned Food Drive competition between the High School, Middle School, and Elementary Schools. KWRL supported our efforts for the third year in a row and sent buses on Tuesday, November 22 to collect, weigh, and deliver our food.
The totals are:
Bus 96 for High School
The bus started at 21,320 pounds and after the food was added the bus weighed 22,540 pounds for a total of 1,220 pounds of food went to the Lewis River Mobile Food Bank, which supports local residents and the LCHS Food Closet.
Bus 48 Middle School
The bus started at 21,920 pounds and after the food was added the bus weighed 24,040 pounds for a total of 2,120 pounds of food went to the Clark County Food Bank, which supports the Lewis River Mobile Food Bank and local residents.
Bus 84 Elementary School
The bus started at 21,800 pounds and after the food was added the bus weighed 23,620 pounds for a total of 1,820 pounds of food went to Share, which supports LC Schools through the Backpack Program.
Total food gathered through the effort: 5,160 lbs or 2.58 tons of food.
