Spread the Word!  The FAFSA for the 2017-18 school year goes online October 1, 2016.
THE FAFSA APPLICATION HAS 2 STEPS:
Step 1: Create 2 accounts (1 for student using student’s Social Security Number and 1 for parent using the parent’s Social Security Number) at fsaid.ed.gov

***Make sure your FSA ID is ‘matched’ before you complete the FAFSA application. If you are not sure how to check whether the FSA ID has been matched, contact Mr. DiStefano and he can show you where to look. FAFSA will allow you to complete an application with an ‘unmatched’ FSA ID but it will result in an error, however, they will not notify you that the application has an error.

Step 2: Complete the 2017-18 FAFSA application which opens October 1. Do not complete the 2016-17 application. Use your 2015 tax information. Use the student’s FSA ID to sign in to the FAFSA application and you will need to use both the student FSA ID and parent FSA ID to sign and submit the application at the end. The website is fafsa.ed.gov
