On Monday April 25th, the La Center Chapter of the National Honor Society inducted 21 students. A long-standing club, the National Honor Society was founded in 1921 to create an organization that would recognize and encourage academic achievement while also developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. Membership is both an honor and a commitment.
Induction is no easy feat. Members of the La Center Chapter of the National Honor Society must:
- maintain an accumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.
- continue to exhibit excellent scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
- participate in at least one chapter service project per school year
- perform at least one individual service project per school year
