New MS General Contractor Bidding – Calendar of Dates

We are thrilled to announce we are beginning the bidding process to hire a general contractor for the construction of the new middle school!

Large construction projects like the new middle school are run by a General Contractor. The General contractor is in charge of the construction of the building and manages the numerous subcontractors involved in the work. Jobs like plumbing, electricity, carpentry and masonry.
General contractors are hired by a bidding process. Below, you will find the calendar of dates leading up to the hiring of our general contractor. Once hired, we expect construction to begin in the Spring of 2020.

Oct. 9th—First Bid Advertisement
Mid-Late October—Prebid Meetings
Nov. 13th, 3:00pm—Bidding Opens
Nov. 19th School Board Mtg—Board Approval of General Contractor
