Smart Goal #1
SMART Goal:  100% of LCHS students graduate on time.

Measurement: On time graduation rate.

Specific: What are we looking for? Measurable:  How will we measure the specific? Accountability: Reasonable Time based:  Who is responsible and when is it due?
Focus 9:  Organizational skills, time management, communication support, study skills, and accountability for turning in work.  100% of students showing passing grades in all classes. Send D/F letters home at the quarter of each semester. Teacher(s) and Counselors meet with students who are failing with D/F grades Quarterly review of student’s grades.  Mrs. Cole connects with Mrs. Luiz and Mr. DiStefano.
Identification and communication with off track students. Create a list for each grade level of students who are off track for graduation; number of credits, meeting standard on state tests, 13th year plan (Xello)

Send out letters and emails to families of students who are off track. 

Meet with each student and a parent/guardian in August to determine a plan; seniors, then juniors, then sophomores. Monitored by administration and counseling staff.

Counselor and Admin. Meet with each student/parent to establish plan to get back on track to graduation. 

Meet and develop plan in September and October – Sr first, Jr. second, and then Sophs. 

Admin and counselors are responsible to monitor plan progress and communicate with student and family at least twice monthly. 

MTSS:  Staff collaborates and tracks students from each grade level on a weekly basis through a shared document. Data will show student growth plan and improvement on grades Staff will access the MTSS shared doc.  Staff will support accommodations as set in the MTSS meeting. Weekly grade level meetings by staff. Mr. DiStefano and Mrs. Luiz will host the MTSS meetings.  Share with staff information from shared document.

Student participation in state assessments: Provide opportunities during the school day. Running Start students can take assessments at Clark & LCC.  Provide after school testing periods. Alternate pathways provided at LCHS such as SAT and ASVAB testing. Another alt. pathway is Cascadia Tech. 95% or more of students will take the state assessments during each testing periods. Notify students and parents in advance of multiple opportunities. Make arrangements with students and parents of makeup times during the testing window. Kurt Gray and Carol Patton will set the testing windows at the beginning of the school year.  Notices and trainings will be sent to all stakeholders.
Improve Communication with Running Start Students: Provide calendar access, emails and notifications of events, meetings with counselors, and testing windows. Data will show that senior students are on track to graduate or have a plan in place for graduation. Confirmation on scheduling for RS classes, meeting grad. requirements and completing state testing. Contacting parents and students by phone to set meeting times. Carol Patton, Kurt Gray, Timm DiStefano and Valerie Luiz will be responsible to help improve these important communications and schedules.
Credit Recovery: Provide appropriate semester long opportunity for students year round. 100% of students will successfully complete their credit recovery course(s). During summer school and during the school year, students who are engaged in Credit Recovery will work with Mr. Hill and LCHS staff to complete their class(es). Based on plan developed with student, parent, admin, and counselor, student will complete the needed credit recovery classes to get back on track for on-time graduation. Carol Patton, Kurt Gray, Timm DiStefano, and Valerie Luiz will be responsible for meeting with students/parents to develop the student’s plan. Bob Hill will support student learning and course completion. All named here will be involved in communicating with students and families. 
Attendance: Improve student attendance. Reduce the number of unexcused absences by 10% from the previous year. 100% adherence to the state and LCSD attendance process. Patton/Gray conduct meetings with student and parents.  Denise will send notifications to home address with mtg times. Admin. will make appointments 2 times a month.
Skyward Training available for parents as requested. Provide handouts on navigating Skyward, meetings with parents as requested, and support through emails. Office staff, Counselors, and Administration will provide support for parents. Updates to Skyward will be provided by ESD 112.   Carol Patton will get the information from ESD 112 and have Bill H. put on the high school webpage.

SMART Goal:  Improve opportunities for student readiness toward college and career. 

Measurement: Pre and post survey data for all stakeholders.

Specific: What are we looking for? Measurable:  How will we measure the specific? Accountability: Reasonable: Time based:  Who is responsible and when is it due?
Healthy Youth Survey: Data gathered will help our school identify areas of concern, needs and help when applying for grants. Data results provided by the HYS. Provide students with counselor support, educational workshops on health and substance abuse issues, and outside support groups. Counselors and the health classes address areas in need according to the student data from the HYS. Teachers, counselors, Community Services NW, and administrators collaborate with results from data.  Items identified and complete by the end of year..
Career Fair Data: Provide a wide variety of career options presented. Survey students prior to the Career Fair to collect career areas of interest. Survey afterwards to determine success. 100% of students complete pre and post survey. Counselors and admin. inform students via email, announcements and person contact. Designated adult to run Career Fair will survey 45 days prior to identify specific volunteers.  Post survey following Career Fair.
Student Led Conferences:  designed for seniors. Are they prepared for post high school? Survey 100% graduating seniors post SLC. Complete survey by last senior class meeting. Counselors, senior class advisor and admin will hold seniors responsible and send out last year’s seniors a survey. Counselors and admin will complete survey data by end of the school year.  The post graduates will be surveyed by May.
Project Based Learning/STEM:  Students working collaboratively on overarching issues. For those teachers collaborating on a PBL/STEM project, data from student work will be evaluated to determine successes of the PBL across departments. Teachers will work with students to complete their PBL/STEM project using the rubric established  for both classes. Students will be held responsible to complete PBL/STEM project based on the established rubrics. Teams of teachers will complete data to determine whether students have met/exceeded state standards by the end of each semester.
Xello: Focus on job opportunities for post-high school careers. End of year, data determines job interests that link to Career Fair presenters and course offerings. 100% of students participate in Xello. Counselors require students to complete the Xello program during class time. Counselors share data with admin. and SIP team.
WAC:  Variety of students from all grades and groups to work on improvement of LCHS climate and culture. 30 students selected by staff and admin. that represent various groups/clicks within the building. 100% of selected students participate in meetings and goal setting. Patton/Gray/Luiz work with student group on their issues, concerns and goals.  Sept. select students. Meet monthly with students. 
Survey Stakeholders: to help identify specific needs from Staff, Students, and Parents that will support student readiness for college and careers.   Surveys of identified needs to all stakeholders.  Data from post high school students, assessments, attendance, grad.rate, 9th grade success rate. Each semester provide surveys to stakeholders. Patton/Gray will be responsible for collecting data from stakeholders. Surveys completed in January and May.
